Why Commonwealth NJ

Many of our clients have been with us for 20+ years. Here’s why:

We put our clients’ needs and objectives first. Our independence means that we have the duty and privilege of advising our clients without any proprietary constraints. We provide objective, thoroughly researched, and customized investment, plan, and vendor recommendations.

Our clients greatly benefit from our deep expertise, ethical standards, and specialized designations, which are some of the most rigorous credentials in the industry:

A CFP® professional must pass extensive exams in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and retirement. CFP® professionals must also complete continuing education programs every other year to maintain their certification status.

Certified Pension Consultant (CPC)
This signifies an expert understanding in the design, financial, and fiduciary aspects of qualified retirement plans.

Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®)
This is the leading designation for investment fiduciaries for both individuals and retirement plans.

Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®)
This is a professional designation given by the CFA Institute that measures the competence and integrity of financial analysts. Candidates are required to pass three levels of exams covering areas such as accounting, economics, ethics, money management, and security analysis. The CFA charter is one of the most respected designations in finance, considered by many to be the gold standard in the field of investment analysis. This designation is held within our broker/dealer, Commonwealth Financial Network,® by members of its Research team.

We acknowledge our co-fiduciary status at the plan and participant levels, which we believe significantly sets us apart from the majority of advisors. This means that we can provide investment advice to participants. In fact, we play a very active role in working with plan participants, educating them and helping them maximize their benefits and retirement savings.

Our specialty is retirement planning, for businesses and families. Everything we do is designed to get people where they want to be in terms of retirement:

  • Helping companies navigate their fiduciary responsibilities in managing a 401(k) plan

  • Helping plan participants better understand what they need to do so they can have a successful retirement

    • This factors in not only investments, but other key aspects as well: cash flow, health care expenses, social security planning, and distribution strategies that minimize tax impact.
